As a graduate student at D|MA I am expected to complete a thesis project. This involves the completely of a large scale project or body of work and the writing of a 30 page text.
I want my thesis work this year to take place in a specific conceptual framework rather that work on one monolithic piece all year. I’m interested in developing a body of work that is research oriented and will include a variety of media (physical computing, poster design, video, installation) in order to thoroughly flesh out a specific concept.
By adding this blog category onto my website, I aim to turn my thesis into a dynamic, evolving process. So, leading up to the thesis show, I will post a number of things under this category, including but not limited to what I’m reading, what I’m looking at/inspired by, reactions and comments on these things, and progress work of course. This way, I’ll have a chronicle of my entire process, leading from initial idea phase to a final work.
