SPECULATIVE @ LACE Gallery

I will be showing a new piece, Water Rites, at the forthcoming exhibit, SPECULATIVE at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions in Hollywood, CA. Read the curatorial statement here!

The show is curated by Zach Blas and Christopher O’Leary and features work from 10 artists working in a variety of media.

Speculative will focus on new modes of art making and of presentation with an emphasis on the experiential, subversive, and tactical potentials for art in the 21st century. The projects included in this exhibition engage wildly diverse mediums from critical software, art-science, social practices, experimental video, wearable architecture, performance works and much more.

Throughout its three month run, SPECULATIVE will include several additional, related events. We will host a night of performance work, featuring many of the artists in the show. We will also host a panel discussion with guests, including Jack Halberstam and Jordan Crandall. Soon, we will be announcing a series of workshops, hosted through the Public School and led by several of the artists.

In addition to all of these, we’ve produced a Journal/Catalog, that is available through Lulu and at LACE Gallery. The catalog contains information about the show, as well as guest essays from Alex Galloway, Sean Dockray, Pedro Lasch, Scott Buckatman, and more!

Hope to see you at LACE Gallery at 8pm on Thursday, the 16 of June!
